TRY Historic Downtown Thorold Street Walk

Save the date! July 17th & 18th Time: 10am to 7pm Where: Historic Downtown Thorold Ontario (Front Street & Albert Street)

Have you rediscovered Albert & Front Streets yet? Here is your chance. Pick up your passport filled with great incentives and explore the fine boutiques and eateries that line the streets of historic downtown Thorold. Restored buildings, colourful flower baskets and music are part of the sights and sounds of the revitalized core. On July 17th and 18th from 10am to 7pm, join us and TRY Historic Downtown Thorold by walking the streets and rediscovering the charming local businesses that now call this place home.

In the past few years, many of the property owners have moved forward with restoring the historic buildings. On Front Street, George Cottage brought the beautiful Quebec Bank back to its former glory, Ross Boncore refaced the façade of 46 to 50 Front Street South in a classic buttery yellow and outfitted the building with its own protector; a gargoyle that is perched high above the street as a solo guardian. Shannon Passero has made over the former fire hall on Albert Street West into an enchanting store featuring her Neon Buddha and Pure Hand Knit clothing lines and by summers end will expand her operation to include the historic postal building on Front Street North.

Thorold is a hidden gem in Niagara. Centrally located in the heart of the region, Thorold is the perfect destination for those who don’t want to be overwhelmed by the tourists of Niagara-onthe-lake and Niagara Falls. It offers up great restaurants, new and old with trending menus and rave reviews. Free parking is available on the street and in the two parking lots that open onto Front Street. And last but not least Thorold boosts several established and new boutiques and shops that offer a wide range of products perfect for any age group.

In honour of creating a buzz about our “new” historic downtown, we invite you to TRY Thorold. Grab a bite to eat, enjoy an enchanting street walk and visit our beautiful shops. Don’t forget to have your passport stamped!
